Imitation = Flattery? Miu Miu vs TopShop

Whether you love it or hate it, you have to admit, the "inspiration" between these two pairs of shoes is blatant.

First we had Miu Miu's Fall/Winter '11Glitter Cap-toe pumps.  This was the season of glitter and Miu Miu was leading the pack.

TopShop has come right in and taken the design and made it a bit more chunky as well as subbed in more glitter.

I love the design but dislike the knock-off.  What are your thoughts???

The knock-off is WAY too glitterific for me. The great thing about the Miu Miu pump is the contrast between glitter and ponyhair.

Also, the topshop shape, while I've liked in other shoes, really doesn't work.

A shoe salesman once told me that every year in Las Vegas there's a shoe convention where all the new high-end shoe styles are shown. He said that the makers of the cheaper shoes go to this convention and copy the styles. For what it's worth...

i love the Miu Miu waaay better. the height of the heels is much taller, which means better lookin legs and i'm also pretty sure the Miu Miu is much more comfortable. Prices speaks truth.

plus the ponyhair accent is just The Statement , if you change it with a regular glitter, the magic wont work anymore ;)
